After a long winter and more than one Polar Vortex spring is finally here! And what better way to celebrate than to get out of the house and experience Omaha. There are too many great events to list here but these are a few fun family activities that everyone will enjoy.

Things that Go! – This event is coming to an end this weekend so if you haven’t had a chance to see Things That Go! now is the time to do so. Ready, set, Go! Explore all the things that make the world go round in this fun and exciting kids exhibit at the Omaha Children’s Museum.

The 1968 Exhibit runs through May 4th, 2014. The 1968 Exhibit is an ambitious, state-of-the-art, multimedia exhibit that looks at how the experiences of the year fueled a persistent, if often contradictory, sense of identity for the people who were there. It is the unsettled nature of the debate about damage done or victories won that makes an exhibit on this subject so compelling and urgent. Visit the Durham Museum website for more information.

City Sprouts Open House – Fun for the whole family at City Sprouts Community Garden! Join City Sprouts for a garden tour!  Snacks and refreshments and activities for all ages. Learn about planting your garden for early spring crops. Spring Garden Planning workshop from 11am to 1pm, with Carol Dona! This event is free and family-friendly.

Party for the Planet at the Omaha Zoo – Join Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium as we celebrate Earth Day and discover ways you can help save our planet at Party for the Planet on Saturday, April 19, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
